It’s the law for anyone working for hire in Minnesota public waters. The business needs a permit - the worker needs DNR certification. (DNR website - search LSP) Ask to see the DNR issued certificate of the LSP dock and lift worker. Businesses and workers that are properly trained will be happy to show you their credentials.
